Frédéric Laroque, violin

Born into a family of musicians in 1964, Frédéric Laroque starts very young practicing the violin for which he showed a real precocity. After his musical studies at the Paris Conservatory where he obtained a First Prize in Chamber Music in the class of Jean Hubeau in 1981 and First Prize in violin in Gérard Jarry’s class, Frédéric Laroque continues his work in the United States at the University Bloomington, where he will take the teaching of great masters such as Henryk Kowalski, Franco Gulli, Menahem Pressler, Julius Starker and Arthur Grumiaux.

On his return to France, he joined the orchestra of the Opera of Paris and gets quickly the Super Violin Soloist position. Then, still with a keen interest in the practice of chamber music, Frédéric Laroque joined the Gaudi Quartet in 2004 with which he performs regularly in France and abroad. Along with his solo career, Frédéric Laroque ensures the position of professor at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris.
